Benefits of Dry Body Brushing:
- A simple step to treat and prevent eczema/psoriasis, keratosis pillaris, ingrown hair, body acne, cellulite, poor circulation, and loose skin.
- Exfoliates dry, rough skin, enabling moisturizing products to readily absorb into the skin and stimulates cell turnover to improve the tone and texture of skin.
- Increases blood circulation and the function of the lymphatic system, this helps eliminate toxins, reduce cellulites, and makes you feel energized.
- Gentle stretching of connective tissues from brushing helps to regenerate production of collagen and elastin fibers for firmer and healthy glowing skin.
Always brush on dry skin with dry brush bristles. We recommend brushing 7 strokes per area with a quick upward movement towards the major lymph nodes in the body, such as the groin, armpits and base of neck. When brushing fingers and toes, you can brush back and forth between them. The whole process should take just 5 mins.
Follow dry body brushing with some form of hydrotherapy, this may be a bath, shower, steam room, body mud mask or massage and a good quality organic body moisturizer.
**Precautions: Bodecare doesn't recommend firm bristle for the face and décolletage. Instead, use a soft bristle dry face brush for this area. Also, avoid dry brushing over freshly shaved legs, open wounds, inflamed sores, varicose veins, sunburnt skin. Never skin brush during an active cancer state. If pregnant seek doctor's advice first before skin brushing.**
It is recommended to spritz the bristles with a Tea Tree Spray after each body brush to kill any bacteria. This will prolong the life of the brush.
A lot of dead skin is sloughed off when dry brushing, so it is essential to wash your brush once a week with hot soapy water. When washing the brush, try to keep the water on just the bristles due to the timber's natural state not being treated with chemicals. Then pad the bristles into a towel to remove excess water and hang in a well ventilated area or lay with bristles facing down to dry naturally.
Ensure the entire brush head is dry before using again. Never leave a plant bristle body brush in wet area, the bristles will mildew.
